Affiliate disclosure
Apptizo participates in a small number of affiliate programs. This page explains how those programs work, what they fund and the rules we follow to make sure they never compromise our editorial independence.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is an outbound link to a retailer (the App Store, Google Play, a vendor’s direct sales page, etc.) tagged with a code that identifies Apptizo. When a reader clicks the link and completes a qualifying purchase, the retailer pays Apptizo a small commission. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet: you pay exactly the same price you would pay if you arrived at the retailer without clicking our link.
How we use affiliate revenue
Affiliate revenue covers a portion of our hosting costs, our software tooling (testing devices, network analysis software, design tools) and, when material, a small honorarium for editors. Apptizo does not retain commission revenue from products that we explicitly recommend against, even if a reader buys them via our link.
How we choose affiliate partners
- We only join programs run by retailers we already cover editorially.
- We never accept commission deals from a vendor in exchange for a positive review.
- Our category rankings (“Best X for Y”) are decided before affiliate consideration. Products with no affiliate program do win our category recommendations, and have done so on many occasions.
- We never adjust the wording of a review based on whether a product is in an affiliate program.
Disclosure
Articles that contain affiliate links carry a clear disclosure near the top, in line with the recommendations of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the European Consumer Protection Cooperation Network. We also label individual affiliate links with rel="sponsored" per Google’s guidance.
How to verify our claim of independence
